Before the approach of Typhoon Morakot, at least four counties had begun rationing water. Everybody expected the Typhoon to visit Taiwan. Maybe we can get the extra day off and the heavy rain can replenish the country’s reservoirs.
After the Typhoon Morakot hit Taiwan, it’s a nightmare. Thought the center of the storm left Taiwan on early Saturday, heavy rain solved the problem of drought but strong winds and extremely heavy rains from the rim of the system continued to cause major damage. Rainfall from Morakot reached 2777 mm on Alishan in Chiayi County, which was the highest volume in the island's recorded history, according to the weather bureau. Massive flooding has damaged transportation infrastructure and submerged many homes. Flooding in some of the townships was three stories deep. Twenty bridges were either damaged or washed away. In Taitung County, stores were swept up by the Jhihben River and a hotel collapsed into the water. I thought you have been to there before. But now, it’s gone.
Typhoon Morakot pummeled Taiwan just three day, causing widespread damage in southern and eastern areas of the island. Thank to God! We are all safe, however, many of their homes have been damaged or destroyed. Relief for victims ,so we 're praying for fine days. I hope that they is well.
